This interrogation protocol, dated July 14, 2002, records the confession of Adam Osmanovich Dekkushev regarding his involvement in the 1999 Russian apartment bombings. Dekkushev describes his recruitment into Khattab's 'Kavkaz' camp in Chechnya and his subsequent role in procuring aluminum powder and sugar to create explosives. He details the mixing of these materials with ammonium nitrate in the village of Mirny by the Batchayev brothers and an unnamed Ingush man, asserting the resulting mixture was used for both the Moscow and Volgodonsk attacks. Dekkushev admits to participating in the Volgodonsk bombing alongside Timur Batchayev and Yusuf Krymshamkhalov, claiming the original plan to strike a dam was abandoned in favor of a residential building. He alleges that Abu Umar, head of the 'Mutafadjirat' unit, ordered the bombings to force a Russian withdrawal from Dagestan, and identifies Achimez Gochiyayev as a key figure in the Moscow attacks. Following the bombings, Dekkushev fled to Georgia's Pankisi Gorge, where he remained until his detention on the day of the interrogation.
