This collection of documents details the FSB's early investigation into the September 16, 1999, apartment bombing in Volgodonsk at 35 Oktyabrskoye Highway. The FSB Directorate for the Rostov Region requested video footage from a local TV company and commissioned a technical explosives examination from military unit 34435 in Moscow. Significantly, the documents name T.A. Batchayev and Yusuf Krymshamkhalov as the individuals responsible for the explosion in a decision dated only nine days after the event. Forensic analysis conducted by experts Tatyana Vinogradova and Konstantin Stovbur confirmed the presence of RDX (hexogen) and TNT, as well as trace amounts of ammonium nitrate. The explosion was estimated to have a TNT equivalent between 800 and 1,850 kg, likely originating from within or near GAZ-53 and PAZ-3205 vehicles. Interrogation records for suspect A.I. Iskanderov and witness V.V. Iskanderova were also submitted as part of the case materials.
