This July 15, 2002, interrogation protocol records the testimony of Adam Osmanovich Dekkushev, an accused participant in the 1999 apartment bombings, conducted by FSB investigator Savitsky. Dekkushev admits to manufacturing explosive mixtures of ammonium nitrate and aluminum powder under the direction of an Arab named Abu Umar at Khattab's camp. He details the logistics of transporting materials between Volgograd, Kislovodsk, and Volgodonsk, and the involvement of Yusuf Krymshamkhalov and Achimez Gochiyaev. Dekkushev claims he initially intended to bomb a dam in Volgodonsk but was pressured by his accomplices to target a residential building instead, following the Moscow explosions. He asserts that the bombings were intended to force a cessation of Russian military operations in Dagestan.
