On the merits of the charges brought, the accused testified as follows:

• I plead fully guilty to committing the crime provided for by Part 2 Art. 208 of the UK RF, that is, participation in armed formations not provided for by federal law.
• I plead partially guilty to committing the crime provided for by Part 3 Art. 222 of the UK RF, that is, committing as part of an organized group the illegal acquisition, storage, carrying, and transport of firearms, ammunition, explosive substances, and explosive devices. I admit that while I was on the territory of the Chechen Republic as part of illegal armed formations, I had firearms and ammunition for them with me. As for the summer-autumn of 1999, only in the city of Volgodonsk in September 1999 did I realize that I was participating in the transport of an explosive substance and explosive devices, and before arriving in the specified city, I was convinced that the substance manufactured in the settlement of Mirny was a mixture of dry paint.
• I completely do not plead guilty to committing the crime provided for by Part 3 Art. 223 of the UK RF, that is, the illegal manufacture of explosive substances and explosive devices committed by an organized group, as I did not participate in the manufacture of the mixture itself in the summer of 1999 in the settlement of Mirny, nor in the manufacture of explosive devices, nor in the acquisition of components for explosive substances and explosive devices.
