Witness Rights and Obligations

Before the start of the interrogation, the rights and obligations of a witness, provided for by part four of Art. 56 of the CCP RF, were explained to me:

1. To refuse to testify against oneself, one's spouse, and other close relatives, the circle of whom is defined by paragraph 4 of Art. 5 of the CCP RF. Upon agreeing to testify, I am warned that my testimony may be used as evidence in a criminal case, including in the event of my subsequent refusal of this testimony.
2. To testify in one's native language or a language one is proficient in.
3. To use the assistance of an interpreter free of charge.
4. To challenge the interpreter participating in the interrogation.
5. To file motions and lodge complaints against the actions (inaction) and decisions of the inquirer, investigator, prosecutor, and court.
6. To appear for interrogation with a lawyer in accordance with part five of Art. 189 of the CCP RF.
7. To request the application of security measures provided for by part three of Art. 11 of the CCP RF.

I have been warned about criminal liability for refusal to testify under Art. 308 of the CC RF and for giving knowingly false testimony under Art. 307 of the CC RF.
