This resolution, dated March 26, 2002, and signed by Senior Assistant to the Prosecutor General V.P. Kravchenko, initiates a criminal case against lawyer A.A. Shakhnazarov for making a 'knowingly false report.' Shakhnazarov had alleged that investigators V. Turlaev and A. Solzhenitsyn accepted bribes between May 2001 and January 2002 to release suspects arrested for bombings in Kavkazskie Mineralnye Vody and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. These events are part of the broader legal landscape following the 1999 apartment bombings and related terrorist activity in the North Caucasus. The Prosecutor General's Office found no evidence of bribery and subsequently charged Shakhnazarov under Article 306 of the Criminal Code. The case was transferred to M.M. Umariev for investigation and later received by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Kalmykia in July 2002.
