...Офицер же не может один приехать. А они здоровые, крепкие, бритоголовые. Любого спецназовца переодень в гражданку, и он как бандит. Вот он стоит, все смотрят на него, вроде как группировка приехала бандитская. А на самом деле это солдаты в увольнении. Документы же у них никто не проверяет...

...После 95-го борьба с терроризмом из уголовной плоскости переместилась в политическую. В 96-м году меня назначили начальником отделения по поиску террористов, объявленных в международный розыск. Пришли документы на бывшего председателя КГБ Грузии Игоря Гиоргадзе. Он подозревался в организации покушения на Шеварднадзе.

У меня был агент, который был в хороших отношениях с братом Гиоргадзе, Давидом. Я лично с ним встречался. Когда пришли бумаги на Игоря, я через агента установил его местонахождение. Миронов посмотрел на меня: мол, ты чего, совсем с ума сошел?

• Не трогать его, близко не подходить! Это большая политика, и нечего тебе его задерживать...

...Я слышал как генерал внутренних войск, который воевал в первую чеченскую войну, сказал: "До сих пор не могу понять, почему был подписан указ о приостановке боевых действий. Это было предательство армии".

Генерал же не знал, сколько стоил этот указ.... Вся российская армия была в шоке. Ведь фактически чеченцев тогда, летом 1995 года, загнали в горы, и у них было потеряно управление войсками. Боевики уходили домой. Не было ни связи, ничего. Фактически была одержана победа. А тут подписан указ, войска отвели и дали им восстановить силы, ресурсы и захватить Грозный.

Словом, когда чеченцев загнали в горы и ситуация у них стала катастрофической - у Дудаева... затребовали деньги. За приостановку боевых действий. Через Басаева. Несколько миллионов. И Дудаев заплатил: у него выхода не было. После этого чеченцев решили элементарно кинуть. Бабки взять, а боевые действия не приостанавливать.

Тогда Басаев захватил Буденновск...
