Последний раз я видел Александра Капанадзе, когда передавал его второй раз в ГУБОП - лично в руки генерала Козлова. Где он сейчас, не знаю, мне это совершенно не интересно.
В первый раз они его упустили. Дали ему мобильный телефон и велели держать с ними связь, а он улизнул.
После второго взрыва опять пришёл ко мне. Его здесь охраняли Игорь Бедеров и Юра Лизунов, наши самые крепкие ребята. В этот раз приехали и из ГУБОПа, и из ФСБ. ГУБОП не хотел его забирать, но я настоял, чтобы забирали они, и ездил туда с ними.
Через несколько дней в редакцию ко мне приходили из ФСБ, расспрашивали о нём. Сказали, что он давно в Москве занимался какими-то махинациями, мошенничал. Было это непосредственно перед взрывами или задолго - не знаю.
Он лежал здесь в больнице, не в психиатрической, а в обычной - с переломом бедра.
