Plea Statement

• I completely do not plead guilty to the commission of acts of terrorism on September 8 and 13, 1999, in the city of Moscow – the explosions of residential buildings; I consider myself not involved in these events.
• I plead partially guilty to the commission of the act of terrorism on September 16, 1999 – the explosion of a residential building in the city of Volgodonsk, as I did not activate the explosive mechanism and did not determine the placement of the explosive substance.

Regarding Other Charges

• I completely do not plead guilty to the commission of crimes provided for by subparagraphs "a", "v", "d", "e", "zh" and "n" of Part 2 of Art. 105, Part 3 of Art. 30 and subparagraphs "a", "v", "d", "e", "zh" and "n" of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, in intentional murder and attempted intentional murder.

  • During the commission of the act of terrorism on September 16, 1999, in the city of Volgodonsk, I had no intent or intention to kill people, nor did I perform actions that could cause the death of people.
  • Regarding the explosions of residential buildings in the city of Moscow, as I indicated above, I have no connection whatsoever.

• I completely do not plead guilty to the commission of the crime provided for by Part 2 of Art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, in giving a bribe to an official for his commission of knowingly illegal actions.

  • A bag of sugar was handed over to the police officer who let the vehicle with the explosive substance through the GAI [traffic police] post, after the completion of the transport as a friendly gift; it was not promised to him in advance and was not connected with the fact of letting the car through the post.

• I completely do not plead guilty to the commission of the crime provided for by Part 1 of Art. 30 and Part 3 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, in the commission as part of an organized group of persons of preparation for acts of terrorism.
