Всего за истекший период следствия по делу произведено 1249 допросов свидетелей и потерпевших, 68 опознаний, 44 выемки, 238 осмотров, 81 обыск, 487 экспертиз различного криминалистического профиля (в том числе и судебно-медицинских). Но, несмотря на значительный объем проделанной по делу работы, задержать разыскиваемых обвиняемых к настоящему времени пока не представилось возможным.
В этой связи, а также в целях обеспечения установленных Законом требований полноты, всесторонности и объективности исследования всех обстоятельств дела, в дальнейшем по делу запланировано:
- продолжение во взаимодействии с органами дознания ФСБ и МВД России розыска обвиняемых Гочияева, Крымшамхалова, Батчаева и других, а также их пособников в период 1999-2001 годов;
- проведение комплекса оперативно-розыскных мероприятий и следственных действий по пресечению преступных намерений Гочияева по созданию вооруженного формирования, не предусмотренного Федеральным законом, из числа ваххабитов КЧР и вывод его в Грузию через Клухорский перевал, а также организации и осуществлении им очередных актов терроризма;
- допросы свидетелей, возможно обладающих информацией о местах нахождения разыскиваемых, их пособниках и участии в НВФ;
- завершение производства свыше 20 объемных осмотров изъятых во время следствия предметов и документов, а также принятие процессуальных решений по их определению;
- проверка по дополнительно разработанному плану причастности Гочияева к актам терроризма, имевшим место в марте сего года на территории Ставропольского края и Карачаево-Черкесской Республики.
Кроме того, в случае задержания кого-либо из разыскиваемых обвиняемых, незамедлительно приступить к производству с их участием следственных действий с предъявлением всех собранных к настоящему времени доказательств.
Учитывая особую тяжесть расследуемого преступления и необходимость проведения перечисленных следственных действий и оперативно-розыскных мероприятий, выполнить которые в установленный до 9 июля 2001 года срок предварительного следствия не представляется возможным

In total, during the elapsed period of the investigation into the case, the following were conducted:

• 1,249 interrogations of witnesses and victims
• 68 identifications
• 44 seizures
• 238 inspections
• 81 searches
• 487 expert examinations of various forensic profiles (including forensic medical ones)

However, despite the significant volume of work performed on the case, it has not yet been possible to detain the wanted defendants.

In this regard, as well as to ensure the requirements established by Law for the completeness, comprehensiveness, and objectivity of the investigation of all circumstances of the case, the following is planned for the case in the future:

• Continuation, in cooperation with the inquiry bodies of the FSB and the MVD of Russia, of the search for the accused Gochiyayev, Krymshamkhalov, Batchaev, and others, as well as their accomplices during the period of 1999-2001.
• Conducting a complex of operational-search measures and investigative actions to suppress the criminal intentions of Gochiyayev to create an armed formation, not provided for by Federal Law, from among the Wahhabis of the KChR and its transfer to Georgia through the Klukhor Pass, as well as the organization and implementation by him of further acts of terrorism.
• Interrogations of witnesses who may possess information about the locations of the wanted persons, their accomplices, and participation in IAF [Illegal Armed Formations].
• Completion of more than 20 extensive inspections of items and documents seized during the investigation, as well as the adoption of procedural decisions on their determination.
• Verification, according to an additionally developed plan, of Gochiyayev's involvement in the acts of terrorism that took place in March of this year on the territory of the Stavropol Krai and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.

In addition, in the event of the detention of any of the wanted defendants, to immediately proceed with investigative actions with their participation, presenting all the evidence collected to date.

Given the particular gravity of the crime under investigation and the need to carry out the listed investigative actions and operational-search measures, which it is not possible to complete within the preliminary investigation period established until July 9, 2001.
