This document consists of press reports from September 2004 regarding the investigation into the Rizhskaya metro station bombing and its links to the 1999 apartment bombings. Federal investigators and the Moscow Prosecutor's Office identified Achimez Gochiyayev, the primary suspect in the 1999 Moscow bombings, as the mastermind behind the 2004 metro and airplane attacks. A casualty of the Rizhskaya blast was identified as Nikolai Kitkeyev, a member of the 'Karachai Jamaat' who was allegedly being monitored by the FSB via phone traces to Gochiyayev in the Pankisi Gorge. The document explicitly connects the 1999 apartment bombings to the same North Caucasus Wahhabi group active in 2004. It also mentions a premature detonation at Rizhskaya that killed the suspect Kitkeyev, who was using a fake passport.
