Abolyan Boris Ashotovich

Born 1948, Guryanova St., 69, bldg. 1, apt. 260
Co-founder of the firm "Delko-2"

Interview on June 26, 2003, in the courtyard of his house

Abolyan was detained at home on September 9, 1999, around three o'clock in the morning. A search was conducted. Then he was taken to the site of the explosion. He sat there in a police command bus.

From the bus, he saw the detained Mario Blumenfeld – his partner in the firm. He also saw a composite sketch (the very first sketch of "Laipanov") arrive in the bus via fax.

In the morning, Abolyan was taken to the district prosecutor's office. There, a judge or prosecutor sentenced him to 10 days of administrative arrest for allegedly using foul language near his house on Guryanova St. around seven o'clock in the morning. In reality, at that time, Abolyan was already sitting in the police bus.

First, Abolyan was held for 5 days in the SIZO (remand prison) in Maryino. They fed him and did not beat him. He does not remember the investigator's name. Then 5 days – in the local police station in Pechatniki (they did not feed him, but they did not beat him either).

Abolyan became a co-founder of the firm "Delko-2" because M. Blumenfeld did not have a Moscow residence permit (he came from Arkhangelsk).

Initially, they were involved in car service. According to Abolyan, their license allowed "almost any activity except for launching space rockets."

Many local policemen forced them to repair cars for free and did not pay for spare parts. In addition, the policemen "providing security for the firm" demanded and received money from the firm. According to Abolyan, the firm kept triple accounting: for themselves, for the tax service, and for the police "roof" (protection racket). Abolyan believed that Blumenfeld was excessively submissive to the "roof," and therefore left the firm in 1997.

There were two "protecting" policemen; one of them worked in OMON, the other – at Petrovka.

Abolyan knew the policemen Izmailov (or Ismailov) and Verblyud. The first was a local precinct officer.

In Abolyan's opinion, the house was blown up by people professionally versed in construction. He himself graduated from MISI (Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering - his second higher education) and knows that for any building longer than 50 m, a joint is made at the boundary of two soils to prevent subsidence. A non-professional cannot know this. House 19 on Guryanova St. was blown up taking this joint into account.

In the Moscow Mayor's Office, Abolyan saw a long-term development plan for the district, where four "tower" houses were already depicted in place of the then-still-intact House 19.
