• I consider the suspicions against them to be the most well-founded: these suspicions are also supported by Chechens (perhaps those of a pro-Moscow orientation? Find out - KB), even if the letter (essentially a confession) was not written by Gochiyaev himself.
• What did Mukhit Laypanov look like? Does he resemble his first composite sketch? Find out at the Stavropol UVD [Internal Affairs Directorate]. (Kovalev)
• Whom does Gochiyaev mean by "a person whom he knew very well" and who asked him to rent the basements? (Litvinenko, Trepashkin)
• In whose name was the basement on Kashirskoye Highway rented? Conduct an identification. (kb)
• In whose name (names) were the premises on Guryanova St., Borisovskie Prudy, and Krasnodarskaya St. rented?
  • (Levinson <— Yushenkov <— "Los Angeles Times" journalist: there was no Laypanov passport, Gochiyaev rented everything in his own name. Who is this journalist, where did he get this information?) (Levinson)
• Gochiyaev's wife: Are Madina Abaeva and Khalimat Edieva the same person? M. Abaeva is accused of complicity, and it is reported (by the FSB) that she fled to Chechen territory with her husband. Kh. Edieva is not accused of anything; her female relatives live in the apartment on Katukova St., and she, according to a neighbor, has already married someone else. (Trepashkin, Kovalev, KB)
• What investigative actions were carried out by the Moscow Prosecutor's Office (before the case was transferred to the FSB) on Katukova St., at the 51st kilometer of the MKAD [Moscow Ring Road], on Borisovskie Prudy St., on Krasnodarskaya St., at the "Delovaya Kompaniya" [Business Company] firm ("Lantana-L" agency)? • Is it really Gochiyaev in the photos with Khattab? Ask him himself (and not the experts) (Litvinenko) and Shamil Basaev (Podrabinek).
  • If so, when was this taken?
  • Is Shamil Basaev acquainted with Gochiyaev? Was he acquainted before September '99? Ask Basaev (Podrabinek) and the FSB (Kovalev) about this.
• The Pryaslovs, father and son. According to the official version, they were transporting Hakim Abaev in their "Moskvich," who was accompanying a truck with explosives from Kislovodsk to Moscow. Find them (Kovalev, Trepashkin). Invite them to the commission. Conduct an identification of Abaev, Krymshamkhalov, and Saitakov. Was the truck checked on the road? (Caution: they may be Lubyanka agents).
• What did they report to the Ministry of State Security of Georgia in the request for the extradition of Dekkushev? Ask at the Prosecutor General's Office (Kostoev) and at the Georgian MSS. (Kovalev)

Other suspects

• Find Kapanadze – alive or dead. Find out from the former head of GUBOP Gen. V. Kozlov or other GUBOP employees to whom in the FSB (personally) Kapanadze was handed over. Try to find Kapanadze's parents in Tbilisi (Kovalev – to influence Pyasetskaya), talk to them. (Kovalev, Gefter)
