Бывший подполковник ФСБ России Александр Литвиненко — герой целого ряда криминальных скандалов, получивший политическое убежище в Англии, — провел вчера из Лондона очередной телемост с российскими журналистами, депутатами и правозащитниками. На новой виртуальной встрече опальный контрразведчик продолжил скандальную тему, начатую весной также с помощью телемоста из Лондона экс-олигархом Борисом Березовским (его другом и деловым партнером), — о том, что взрывы жилых домов в Москве и Волгодонске осенью 1999 года будто бы организовали вовсе не чеченские террористы, а сама ФСБ. Доклад г-н Литвиненко приурочил к заседанию общественной комиссии по расследованию тех трагических событий, возглавляемой депутатами Госдумы Сергеем Ковалевым и Сергеем Юшенковым.

Все собравшиеся по этому случаю в гостинице «Балчуг-Кемпински» ожидали сенсации. Накануне г-н Литвиненко пообещал корреспондентам, что намерен показать некую видеокассету с интервью Ачемеза Гочияева — главного подозреваемого в организации взрывов жилых домов в Москве и Волгодонске, по версии ФСБ. Этот человек, уверял бывший контрразведчик, якобы подробно и доказательно ему поведал, как осенью 1999 года все было на самом деле. Однако г-н Литвиненко жестоко разочаровал столичную публику. Запись интервью контрразведчик демонстрировать отказался, сославшись на то, что слабоват в технических вопросах и не знает, как ее «прокрутить». И предложил всем желающим приехать за ней в Лондон.

Что же касается содержания так и не показанного интервью, то о нем подробно рассказал адвокат Юрий Фельштинский — соавтор г-на Литвиненко по книге «ФСБ взрывает Россию». По его словам, лично Гочияева они не видели, а получили кассету с интервью и личными рукописными показаниями через некоего посредника. Из них же следовало, что Гочияев никогда не был чеченским боевиком и все последние годы жил и работал в Москве, возглавляя собственное ОАО «Капстрой-2000». В августе 1999 года, говорится в откровениях Гочияева, некий школьный друг, которому он очень доверял, попросил его арендовать в разных концах Москвы подвалы в жилых домах. On the eve, Mr. Litvinenko promised correspondents that he intended to show a certain videotape with an interview with Achimez Gochiyayev — the main suspect in organizing the apartment bombings in Moscow and Volgodonsk, according to the FSB version. This man, the former counterintelligence officer assured, allegedly told him in detail and with evidence how everything really happened in the fall of 1999. However, Mr. Litvinenko cruelly disappointed the capital's public. The counterintelligence officer refused to demonstrate the recording of the interview, citing the fact that he was weak in technical matters and did not know how to "play" it. And he suggested that everyone who wanted to should come to London for it.

As for the content of the interview that was never shown, lawyer Yuri Felshtinsky — Mr. Litvinenko's co-author of the book "Blowing Up Russia" — spoke about it in detail.
