Incident Summary

• The subject, along with other members of the organized group, carried out the explosions of two apartment buildings in Moscow, located at the addresses: 19 Guryanova St. and 6 Kashirskoye Shosse, bldg. 3.
• As a result of the explosions, 223 people died, more than 150 residents sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity, and the buildings were destroyed.
• During the investigation, the subject gave sufficiently detailed and consistent confessionary testimony (protocols in the criminal case).
• In the pre-trial detention center, the subject was examined by a doctor on 07.12.02 and 09.12.02; a diagnosis was established: "Gunshot multi-fragmentary fracture of the 1st metatarsal bone of the left foot," and he received appropriate treatment (information from the personal file, the prisoner's medical record).

Current Examination Findings

During the current examination of the subject at the V.P. Serbsky State Scientific Center for Social and Forensic Psychiatry, the following was established:

Somatic Condition

• Internal organs without physically detectable pathology.
• On the skin of the left foot, there is a scar from a bullet wound.

Neurological Condition

• Traumatic scars on the left cheek and lower lip.
• Traces of entry and exit holes on the arch and inner lateral surface of the left foot.
• When looking to the sides, coarse nystagmus occurs.
• Latent dyssynergia of gaze toward the outer corners of the eyes is noted.
• Convergence is weakened on both sides.
• Tendon and periosteal reflexes are high in the arms and legs, anisoreflexia — reflexes are higher on the left.
• Positive Babinski reflex on both sides, more tonic on the left.
• Signs of mild static ataxia are noted; he deviates to the left when performing coordination tests.
• Moderate hyperhidrosis of the feet and hands.

Conclusion: "Long-term consequences of closed traumatic brain injury. Condition after a gunshot wound to the left foot."

• Consciousness is clear.
• Correctly oriented in place, time, and self-identity.
